THE COACHING MANAGER/LEADER
Leadership / management can be a really tough role to be in. Some leaders/managers have such a sharp or competitive edge that the needs of their people can become secondary. For others, honouring people can be a challenge due to their past experiences, training (or lack of), or the limiting or harsh management style of a company's executive leadership or corporate culture.
For organizations that seek to create and/or foster a positive and empowering, "helping your people be the best they can be" approach - where challenges, obstacles and goal-setting is handled with a coach-like approach - this group of people will statistically have a much great chance of achievement.
"The Coaching Manager/Leader" program is designed to assist, enhance and empower those into he role of manager/ team leader to adopt and bring to reality this type of attitude, energy and personality for the greater success of ALL involved!
This program shares ideas, the "do's and don'ts" of coaching along with real life examples that demonstrate the best ways to be coach-link in a management environment. It introduces you to the concept and skills of being coach-like and provides an experiential learning platform to immediately practice the skills and concepts.
Becoming an effective coach takes time. To truly mast the skill of a 'great coach', and become a coach-like manager, it is necessary to convert the theory into practice. BRIDGING THE GENERATION GAP
Employees quit their managers, not the company. Outdated management attitudes need to be set aside. We are facing a crisis as the population will shift from “baby boomers” in the workforce to Gen'x'ers and Gen'y'ers. Talent Management will become a major problem for many organizations. It was estimated that by the end of 2008 we would have 2 million more jobs than people to fill them! Those numbers will continue to increase. Companies with money and the reputation as employers of choice will survive the crisis, many others will not.
Companies today must have a workforce strategy in place to meet the challenges of the impending workforce crisis and one that retains their current key talent. Managers need to look at their employees not as challenges to deal but rather as people to be understood. Organizations must ensure they have the right person in the right job. Additionally, organizations must develop effective managers and verify the specific management skill sets that are required for them to perform up to their full potential.
An interactive workshop during which the participants will explore, understand and learn what is needed to bridge the generation gap.
